Hello, my name is Karrie. I want to go to Japan for the fall semester of 2010 to go to school. I want to go abroad with AFS because I expect to gain more knowledge about Japan and the people there. I will try to give the people there more knowledge of people in the U.S. My family and friends think that my decision to become an AFSer will be a good experience for me. I have partially overcome the money barrier to become an AFSer. I also got a scholarship from an AFS sponsor. So far I have collected cans, done a few bake sales, and have done gift wrapping. I'm planning to have more bake sales and maybe some car washes. I still have $8,000 to raise to be able to go.
I like music and anime/manga. I mostly like RPG video games and the occasional fighting game. I play lots of instruments. In school I do throwing events in Track and Field.
